Living in Pacific Beach, San Diego also means having a community calendar filled with local events and gatherings. One of these is the annual Pacific Beachfest, held every October along the Boardwalk to Thomas Street.

There’s also the local farmers market, held every Tuesday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at 901 Hornblend. You can purchase fresh produce, local crafts and products, as well as meet other PB residents.

If you are a yogi, different studios in the neighborhood regularly host outdoor yoga sessions in the area. Enthusiasts or beginners can try sunset yoga at Kate Sessions Park located at the base of Mount Soledad. You can also start your day with some morning flow with Steve Hubbard (also known as NamaSteve Yoga)— he hosts oceanfront yoga at Palisades Park at the end of Law Street throughout the week.

DINING AND NIGHTLIFE

Pacific Beach plays host to a highly rated food scene. Characteristic of San Diego, there are beachside taco stands for when you want a quick bite after a day in the sun. There are also some upscale fine dining restaurants for date nights or celebrations.

Garnet Avenue, the neighborhood’s main thoroughfare, is lined with all kinds of places for every palate. Try breakfast at Kono’s Cafe for hearty portions. Then there’s Ambrogio15 on Turquoise Street for delicious Italian dishes and vegan friendly options.

After enjoying the iconic Pacific Beach sunset, watch the place come alive at night with its renowned bars and clubs, some also on Garnet Avenue and others on Mission Boulevard. Pacific Beach AleHouse located at the corner of Grand and Mission has craft beers and ocean views. Meanwhile, PB Shore Club has more of a party vibe and hosts its popular “Shore Club Sundays” for anyone who loves a cocktail on the beach.
